New Office Space with BEdesign

I can’t think of anything more inspiring than a successful business run by young entrepreneurs. Having grown up in a family of businesses, I have the utmost respect for those who have the courage to believe in their dreams and make them a reality. Hence I was deeply impressed to discover a Finnish brand BEdesign. Run by sisters Bette and Cilla, BEdesign is all about high quality, functional design. The sisters started the company in 2012 and have expanded their product selection steadily ever since. Bette is responsibly for the product design, whilst Cilla looks after the business development.

These Lume trestle legs from BEdesign are possibly the most versatile piece of furniture in my entire home. I have had many makeshift offices in the past and often move my desk around our home depending on different projects. Nothing better than a desk you can pack up or move around as you please! As a big bonus, all BEdesign products are made in Finland!

I’m in love with my new desk and once we get the flooring sorted, the office space will be my favourite spot in the house. Stay tuned!

The trestle legs were kindly sent to me as gift by BEdesign. As always, all opinions are my own! Take a look at the rest of their beautiful product selection here.

Hello May

I can’t believe it’s May. I swear we were celebrating Christmas just yesterday – right? I think we are all feeling a bit confused, since the weather has been playing a havoc and it just doesn’t feel like May. Anyway, here we are and my calendar is looking pretty full for the month ahead. I can’t wait to show you some really exciting collaborations later this month and hopefully (keep those fingers crossed!) renovation updates, too!

A little side note about this chair. The iconic CH24 by Hans Wegner. I am so blessed to finally have one in my home, it’s been a very long time coming!

For the Love of Iconic Designs

As you are probably aware, my love for iconic Scandinavian design goes back many years. Over time, I have accumulated a few classic pieces that I intend to keep for as long as I can. I have a tremendous amount of appreciation for the craftsmanship that goes into these pieces and I never underestimate the high quality and timelessness of their design. A great example of this is the iconic Bølling Tray Table designed in 1963 by Danish architect Hans Bølling.

Today, the Tray Table is crafted in Brdr. Krüger’s workshop in Denmark. An icon itself, Brdr. Krüger was founded by the Krüger brothers in the late 19th century. What was originally a woodturning workshop, has now become a self-producing design company that is still committed to the same high level of quality and craftsmanship.

This table is a great example of functional and honest design. It is so easy to put together, you won’t need any instructions. The materials, the finish and the assembly are the highest quality. It is also incredibly versatile; it works as well as a side table as it does as a serving trolley. You could even use the tray on its own for serving.

I apologise in advance for the frequency this table will feature in my photos from now on! It has quickly become an essential part of our home and I can easily see us enjoying it for years to come. The table was generously gifted to me by Brdr Krüger, but as always, these opinions are honest and my own.

CULT 20

A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of attending the CULT 20 event that celebrated the extended showroom and the 20th anniversary of Cult. Cult hosts some of my all time favourite brands, including Fritz Hansen, Louis Poulsen and Carl Hansen & Son. With the extended showroom these brands, along with many others, are getting the breathing space they deserve.

The new showroom is airy and structured, and I loved the subtle branding and clever use of the space. The brands flow from one to another, each completing a story. Some of these pieces I’ve never seen “in flesh”, so it felt like I was in a room full of celebrities!

Thank you Cult for having me and here’s to another 20 years!

Vintage Fritz Hansen

I spent most of Saturday restoring these three vintage Fritz Hansen chairs. They are the series 7 chairs, originally designed by Arne Jacobsen. I love the iconic shape, and together with the Super Elliptical dining table (Piet Hein for Fritz Hansen) they are my favourite. The table is also secondhand; it had been in one family for over twenty years and now hopefully in my home for the next twenty.
