Weekend Mood

This beautiful vase by a Swedish brand Smaelta has been on my wish list for a long time. According to Lotta Pettersson, a third generation glassworker and founder of Smaelta, the Vako vase’s unusual shape symbolises the movement of water and ice in the Scandinavian forests. I cannot think of a more beautiful vessel for some weekend flowers.

Also on my sideboard are these gorgeous little vases by a Danish ceramist Anne Black. I adore the subtle colours and the elegant shapes. They are perfect for displaying those side-of-the-road flowers my daughter brings me almost daily.

Wishing you all a peaceful weekend full of love and laughter!

These beautiful vases were sent to me as a gift. For more information and to order, please visit Elevate Design.

Getting Ready for Winter

A little mid-week update (hello public holiday!) before work awaits again tomorrow. I spent a bit of time this morning getting our balcony ready for “winter”. Looks like we are finally heading towards cooler temperatures this weekend! The reality is, however, if it is a sunny day even in winter, it gets quite warm on our balcony. All my plants survive through the winter months, so there’s no need to take any of them inside.

I’ve also added a couple of throws around our home and taken out even more candle holders, all set for those dark winter nights. Needless to say I really love this time of the year!

Stay tuned for more updates at the end of the week!
