I discovered the Norwegian design company Nedre Foss a couple years ago and have loved their designs since. The notion of “The Century Object”, an object that will serve you for at least a hundred years, is in the core of the company and sits very well with my decorating philosophy as well. It also happens that the majestic cast iron candle holders “Ildhane” and “Glo” are designed by my favourite Norwegian designers Andersen & Voll. There’s something about cast iron that I love as a material. The heaviness makes it feel like a substantial object and fits any decorating style perfectly.
“Sirkel” tealight holder is made from solid coloured glass. The intensity of the colour changes with the thickness of the glass. I love the way light shines through these tealight holders; they are beautiful on their own or grouped together. The colours are gorgeous and intense, something you can only achieve with a solid coloured glass.
Now that the days are getting shorter here in Sydney, I know I’ll be enjoying these candle holders every night. Thank you Nedre Foss for sending me these gifts. All opinions, as always, are my own.
